Let Them Grow Healthier

Child mortality is one of the most worrying issues of the present day world as deaths are only going on increasing at a more alarming rate, when compared to the rates in past. When the reason of child mortality can be attributed to poverty, the fact remains the same that deaths due to mortality are preventable. Statistical analysis reveals staggering results as it suggests that more than thirty thousand children pass away, each day, in developing countries as well as under developed countries.

Experts comment that majority of child mortality cases can be certainly attributed to the poor nutrient diet as well as drinking of polluted water. A girl, who is 15 now, born in African suburbs, now face severe health risk and anything, can happen at any time as her health is subjected to a risk percent of 22, now itself. Even though these critical facts pin point the poor economic status of that country, it has to be remembered the same time that, world health organization is taking what all steps needed in bringing some sort of stability, when it matters to health. True statistical reports, on the other hand reveal that in mortality cases reported in under developed countries, one third of the total causalities are new born babies. Majority of new born babies hospitalized due to mortality have a very low birth weight. This is because, the child, did not get nutrients sufficiently enough, when it was in mother's womb and mother too haven't had anything, either. These low nutrient supplements fed to the infant, virtually effects the balanced functioning of body which ultimately results in the worst case.

Many children, when coming out of the womb, suffer different kind of infections, which shows the unhygienic practices followed by mother during pregnancy days. The mother can't alone be blamed because, unhygienic practices come from an unhealthy surrounding and an unhealthy surrounding come from an unhealthy social set up. A detailed analysis on the different specimen of the new born baby will definitely make the physician say, "If some basic sanitation was maintained, the kid would have been much healthier". However, that is not the case.

Many public as well as private organizations have come forward, including "Bill and Melinda Gates foundation" which have serious concerns on child mortality. They are trying their level best to create the perfect awareness among public about the causes, reasons and effects of this most intimidating current day scenario. It has to be remembered that this is not AIDS, which can't be cured. This is something absolutely preventable, with a little caution and with a little care. These organizations have put their hands together in treating the reported causalities with medicines as well as with some much needed child care products. The anti biotic medicines and sterile medicines supplied by these organizations have proved to be a great helping hand for children suffering illness for reasons, they don't know. Having said all these, it has to be added that, still, these efforts are not just enough to save the cream of tomorrow. Each and everyone in this world have numerous opportunities to take a step forward to stop child mortality.
